Bechhofen, the head office of Führ & Sterkel, in close proximity to the Middle-Franconian town of Ansbach, is known across the globe as the centre of German paint-brush manufacturing. Around the year 1790, the carpenter Johann Kaspar Bühler established paint-brush manufacturing in the region. Today, this location is home to, amongst others, the German paint-brush and brush museum.
From family business to modern production facility: in more than 100 years Führ & Sterkel has grown to become one of the leading manufacturers of paint-brushes, which is bound to the traditions of combining manual know-how with modern technology and current marketing concepts that go with a family business. Apart from the industrial production of the comprehensive standard range of products, individual production for “exquisite‿ purposes as well as small series production is also possible. Führ & Sterkel products therefore live up to all the demands of a modern craftsman and DIY man.

The 110 year old Führ & Sterkel company tradition stands for continuous development and market stability. The quality and know-how of several generations have strengthened the company and will guarantee its existence in the future too. Apart from quality and price, logistics and customer service are the decisive factors for long-term customer relationships. One of the performance features of Führ is thus a wide range of services such as individual packaging, customer brands, elaboration of the range of goods and shelf stocking.

Führ & Sterkel’s sales channels include paint wholesalers and retailers, industrial buyers and building/DIY centres. In the cosmetics industry, mainly cosmetics manufacturers are provided with highly efficiently manufactured “nail varnish brushes‿. The company exports from Bechhofen to all countries in the European Union, to the USA and even to South America.
The merger of the companies „Johann Führ & Söhne Pinselfabrik GmbH“ and „Sterkel“ resulted in the formation of „Führ & Sterkel GmbH“ on 01.07.2006. Both long-standing companies can look back on a company tradition spanning more than 100 years with continuous further development and market persistence.
That is the very reason why both companies decided to merge, according to the motto “professional products from one source‿.
